Three chairs, no waiting room theatre

Book the barber you want at the time you want, or walk in and take whichever chair opens first. Both work. Neither costs you an afternoon.

The week
  • Tuesday - Friday 9:00am - 7:00pm
  • Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm

What a cut costs here

Every price on this page is what you pay at the register. No consultation fee, no product upsell at the chair, no card minimum.

  • Haircut

    $35

Clippers, shears or both, finished with a hot towel and a neck shave.

    45 min
  • Skin fade

    $45

Taken down to the skin and blended up. The one that takes the longest and shows it.

    60 min
  • Beard trim

    $25

Shaped, lined and oiled. Book it with a cut and it runs together.

    30 min
  • Straight razor shave

    $50

Hot lather, straight razor, two passes. Saturdays only, book ahead.

    45 min
  • Cut for kids under 12

    $25

Same chair, same barbers, shorter appointment and a lot more patience.

    30 min
  • Buzz, one guard throughout

    $20

In and out. The only thing here you can reliably get on a walk-in at 6pm.

    15 min

Cash and card both fine. Tips go to the barber, not the shop.

The shop

A shop, not a chain

Ninth Street opened on Grant Avenue in 2016 with one chair and a second-hand mirror. There are three chairs now and the mirror is still the same one. We cut hair, we know the regulars by name, and we close on Sundays because everyone should.

  • Three barbers

All licensed in Pennsylvania, all here most days of the week.

  • Parking on Grant

Free on the street, and the lot behind the building after 5.

  • Kids welcome

Booster seat, and nobody minds a bit of noise.

Why they come back

Why people come back rather than shop around

A barber shop lives or dies on whether the same person is in the chair next time and remembers what you asked for.

  • The same barber, every time

Book by name. Your notes stay on your booking, so nobody asks how you like it twice.

  • Walk-ins are real, not a courtesy

One chair is held open every day. If it is taken, the site says so before you drive over.

  • We run on time

Appointments are 45 minutes because a cut takes 45 minutes. There is no double booking.

Replace this with a real review, word for word, from Google or Facebook. Do not write one. Do not paraphrase one. If there is no review worth printing yet, delete this section - an empty quote block is honest and an invented one is not.

Before you come in

What people ask at the door

Not answered here? Call the shop and whoever is free will pick up. (412) 555-0148

Do I need an appointment?

No. One chair is kept open for walk-ins every day. Booking guarantees a time and a barber; walking in guarantees neither, but usually works.

Can I book a specific barber?

Yes, and most people do. Pick the name when you book and your notes follow you.

What if I am running late?

Call. Ten minutes is fine. Past that the chair goes to whoever is waiting and we will find you the next slot.

Do you cut kids' hair?

Yes, under 12 is $25 and gets a longer slot. Booster seat is there if it helps.

Last thing

Book the chair, or just turn up

Send this and one of us answers it - it does not go to a call centre. If it is quicker to phone, phone.

When the door is open

One of the barbers reads this between chairs. No mailing list, no third party.

That reached the shop.

Somebody answers it between chairs, so give it until the end of the day. If you need a time sooner than that, phone and whoever is free will pick up.
